HCS SB 101 -- COUNTY ORDINANCES

SPONSOR:  Caskey (Byrd)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Judiciary by a vote of 18 to 0.

This substitute allows the County Commission of Cass County to
elect to have county traffic ordinance violations heard by an
associate circuit judge of the county.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill is necessary because
there has been some confusion on court jurisdiction in certain
types of cases.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Caskey.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
